P.S.1010 LA WORKSHOP – Saturday, June 29 – ALL DAY

P.S.1010 LA Workshop is the first event of P.S. 1010*: an informal weekend conference on art, education, and social space. We have invited artists, community organizers, educators, and students to join us by leading discussions, giving workshops, and sharing their practices. We will situate learning as our central subject and approach it from perspectives informed by art, education, community, ecology, geography, architecture, and more.

As the first event of P.S.1010, this gathering of local knowledge will inspire an evolving syllabus publication, which will act as an archive of past events and experiences as well as a manual for future action. We will disseminate and re-make this syllabus as we travel across the country to Good Children Gallery in New Orleans in July, engaging the dynamic space of the school bus, gallery, and open road.

by the sea in its most basic form is a gathering of artists and thinkers upon the majestic and publicly accessible sands and seas around the los angeles area. its intention is told to hold conversations and partake in activities on a series of topics that address our own nature as artists and the nature of the beach. it is both a collaboration with the site of the beach and a collaboration among each other.
