Open Drawing is a weekly drawing club that offers free drawing supplies and artistic support to artists who want it. Open Drawing began at CalArts in 2008, offering the student body an outlet from the pressures of the academic course in art. The club has since expanded to venues off campus in order to engage artists from other local communities.
For a portion of each meeting an artist offers instruction or inspiration around a theme. This week: Erika Braukis will be giving Tropical drawing lessons!
LA Unified
is a student-initiated weeklong symposium exploring the art school. The project consists of panel discussions amongst faculty from Art Center, CalArts, UCLA, and UCR, events programming, and a group exhibition of LA area students from the BFA class of 2012.
All events are free and open to the public.
